About
Jodie gained her undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham, and continued on to complete her post graduate degree (MSc) in Sport Nutrition at Liverpool John Moores University where Jodie was mentored and supervised by one of the global leading researchers, academics and practitioners Prof. Graeme Close.
Following a turbulent beginning as an early career applied practitioner, Jodie soon realised that nutrition is a challenging discipline with layers of complexity that only get revealed to those who make the transition into professional sport. Jodie has nurtured a keen curiosity around the applied practice of nutrition, and is continuing to evolve and improve her knowledge in a number of specialist areas including low energy availability (LEA), relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-s) and female athlete physiology.
Jodie is continuing her research into nutrition within applied sport nutrition by currently working towards a Professional Doctorate (DProf) assessing blood biomarkers within professional rugby league, being supervised by Prof Graeme Close and Dr Jamie Pugh. Jodie is working on a number of articles that we will publish here once available, so keep your eyes peeled on our social media channels (Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIN) for updates – links can be found at the bottom of this page 😊
Jodie looks forward to working with you, and would like to invite you to check out The PINN Podcast to discover more about what drives her ambition, seeking to improve and make the Nutrition field a better place to practice!
