About
Sports and fitness have always been an integral part of my life. From an early age I started playing football, rugby and ice hockey. I started attending the gym as soon as I was able to do so at the tender age of 16 and have been hooked ever since. Over time my own training has developed. Nowadays I make sure to include HIIT (high intensity interval training), calisthenics (body weight movements), some strength training and a bit of yoga in my weekly workouts. I believe variety is key and fitness should be included in everyone’s day to day life.
I qualified with my CYQ level 2 gym instructor in South Manchester at the end of December 2010 and then went straight on to study for my CYQ Level 3 Personal Trainer award which I completed mid February 2011. From there I went into working for a country wide gym group as a personal trainer. Here I prescribed specific programmes catering for my clients’ goals and helped them with any nutritional advise they needed.
At the beginning of July of that year, I realised that a career working in a gym was not for me and decided to pursue the home based training route. Since then it has steadily grown and I have had the opportunity to work with some great people, helping them towards their specific goals. I believe being a personal trainer is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. The feeling when you make a real difference towards a person’s overall quality of life is second to none!
