After working for many years in the investment banking world, I opted, in 2005, for a career change and qualified as a personal trainer, sports massage therapist and nutritional advisor. I operate on a freelance basis in South West London. I have particular experience of exercise prescription for people with osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, obesity and for pre and post natal women. I offer bespoke training for individuals in their own homes, but also conduct group sessions in outside and indoor locations.
I take a holistic approach to fitness, and feel strongly that exercise should be combined with a healthy diet, good breathing techniques, flexibility routines, and massage. I offer tailored programmes to include all of these concepts.
I have recently qualified as a weight loss coach for Zest4life, a company founded by the nutritionist Patrick Holford. I run group sessions and 1:1 sessions for people looking to lose weight and improve body confidence. The groups learn how to adopt a healthy eating pattern for life by implementing a low GL diet. The diet is based on keeping the blood sugar level balanced, an important concept in maintaining overall physiological and psychological wellbeing.
I also run group courses to support people who have overeating and emotional eating problems. The groups are small and discreet. Plenty of motivation, support and advice is given each week to help people stay on track with more healthy patterns.
I give talks and presentations about the benefits of diet and exercise to schools, university colleges, and corporations.
