About
Fitness and health management play a key role in our busy modern lifestyles. Everybody can participate and find a fitness solution to fit their needs, whatever their starting point. Whether it's to recover from an injury, prevent one or any other specific goal, it can be achieved with the right fortitude, motivation and direction. Most of the time the biggest barrier to exercise is summoning up the guts to start.
I believe that my role is to help you break down that barrier and remind you that exercise should be fun, safe and effective. I have 19 years' experience in the health and fitness industry. I started my career in 1999, training and working for the prestigious flag ship Holmes Place Health Club, on the Fulham road, whilst studying for my diploma and then degree in sports science and fitness evaluation. Along with a few others in the early 00s, I then became one of the original park personal trainers based around Chelsea, Battersea, Wandsworth Common, Mayfair, Fulham, Clapham and Kensington.
Since then, the industry has exploded and rightly so. As a keen sportsman playing to a high level in rugby and then in my later 20s amateur league football, I truly believe that with the right basic equipment and knowledge there are so many more benefits to training outside. With fresh air, effectively more privacy and the space to move, you lose none of the effectiveness of a fully equipped state of the art gym and on the few occasions when the English weather does decide to test your resolve, routines can always be adapted for strength and flexibility inside.
I believe in a high frequency of oscillation between differing exercises and equipment, preventing the boredom of training becoming apparent and never giving your body a routine to get accustomed to. Together with the clients I create original routines that revolve around their exercise preferences; maybe encompassing sand and core bags, kettle bells, medicine balls, smash balls, TRX, resistance bands, foam rollers, boxing, manual resistance, body weight exercises and many more techniques that can support the achievement of personal fitness goals. From injury recovery, general weight loss and lifestyle changes to supporting you to run your first marathon or anything specific I can help and keep you focused along the way. I still have the same enthusiasm as I did 19 years ago and over this time I have been lucky and privileged to work with so many wonderful clients who I now consider friends.
Everyone has the guts to achieve their own personal glory. Sometimes you just need a guide.
