About
Since a young age I have been involved in athletics and began throwing the hammer at the age of 15, and have competed at club level through to international level. I currently compete as a senior and a master athlete (w35). In 2017 I became the British record holder for the weight pentathlon (overall score), and the 9.08kg weight throw for the W35 age category.
About 5 years ago I was invited to compete in the Highland Games. My successes include being the Bute Champion for 2015, 2016 and 2017 and the Cowal Highland games champion for 5 consecutive years. The highland games involve a stone putt, Scottish hammer, weight for distance, weight for height and then the caber. The weight for height is by far my strongest event as well as my favourite. My current personal best height is 17ft.
At the age of 30 I decided to go to University in order to build a career foundation for myself and graduated with a 2:1 BA (hons) in Psychology and Criminology. I then carried on to complete a MSc in Psychology. During this time I completed my level 2 gym instructors certificate and began teaching exercises classes. This then led to me completing a level 3 Diploma in Personal Training. Alongside this I qualified to teach Vibe Power (free weights to music) and Vibe Cycle.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Lucy.
